JUL
2018
SiGLA’s engineering and project management area will take the reins of this emblematic project once the purchase of the market has been completed this summer 2018. Originally the property was divided into 40 properties and it has not been until now that each merchant has sold to a common company to later accept Eroski’s offer for the entire property, an arduous task of negotiations between the shopkeepers to value each part, taking into account that some stalls remained open and doing business, and others closed for years.
July 2 was the start date of work on two new developments in SiGLA’s Project Management area; Previously, its engineering department was completing the respective projects for two compact gas stations, one in the Guipuzcoan town of Azkoitia and the other in the northern interior of Mallorca, in Sa Pobla.
The Shopping Center project that began its journey in 2006 with the purchase of 71,000m2 of land, starts with renewed air with the help of SiGLA as delegate promoter of the company Recaré, S.A. owner of the land.
There will be more than 70 million euros of investment that SiGLA will manage in a shopping complex that, due to its appearance, will be halfway between a classic shopping center and a medium-sized retail park as we know them.
After the experience in Logroño where the SiGLA engineering team carried out the analysis prior to its implementation, SiGLA renews its relationship with ALDI Nord in an operation consisting of the demolition of the current buildings and the construction of a new building tailored to the operator of German distribution.
Indeed, the new Eroski supermarket in Azpeitia was inaugurated on Wednesday, October 18, and opened to the public on Thursday, the 19th, fulfilling the project plan.
In this case, SiGLA has acted as investor, project engineer and project manager, as well as general contractor, so the contribution in services and investments is complete, beyond a turnkey.
The previous headquarters and founding headquarters of SiGLA at Serrano 45 occupied an office on the fourth floor of an aluminum and glass building built in the 1970s.
The current election is not far away: we cross the Paseo de La Castellana, leaving the Salamanca neighborhood to enter Chamberí and there occupy the ground floor of Almagro 1, on the corner of Plaza de Alonso Martínez, in the heart of Madrid. It is a slightly elevated ground floor which greatly facilitates accessibility compared to the fourth floor of Serrano 45.
Starting in August, the telephone switchboard of the Vizcaya Technology Park headquarters and that of Madrid have also been virtually united so that, for the purposes of telematic communication, they are now only one.
These changes, together with the opening of a new corporate website in January of this year and the change of offices at SiGLA’s northern headquarters in April, consolidate the renewal of all the operational spaces that the Company had in its program for this 2017.
With experience in the development of more than 350 commercial projects, SiGLA’s project engineering area has just completed the implementation of a new Eroski supermarket in the capital of Gipuzkoa, which opened to the public on May 18.
In this case, the tasks of drafting the project, construction management, coordination of unions and the complete management of the licenses and permits necessary for its opening and start-up have been fully developed.
It will be the German chain’s big bet in La Rioja: serving the Riojan public from the capital of the Community, and the question is whether the location in a Commercial Park with the presence of an Alcampo establishment is the most appropriate option. It involves purchasing the warehouses of the former Ferrer Sport Center and adapting them to operate as an Aldi Supermarket.
To help with this decision, Aldi Spain managers have contacted SiGLA’s consulting area in order to hire the writing of a report that seeks to clarify different technical and financial aspects.
