SiGLA plans, develops and launches a Zero Emissions supermarket

SiGLA plans, develops and launches a Zero Emissions supermarket and obtains the first certification in Europe.

SiGLA achieves the first BREEAM certification in Spain and the first ISO 50001 certificate for a Supermarket.The company specializing in commercial developments finalizes the verification phase of semi-annual results in the establishment it has developed for the Eroski Group in Oñate, Guipúzcoa.
This is a 2,172m2 free standing supermarket that has been entirely built under the criteria and requirements of the BREEAM Spain standard for the sustainability of construction.

Likewise, this development is the first in Europe to be certified by the UNE EN ISO 50,001 standard for energy management systems. CENER has collaborated in the project, based on its experience in R&D, with a system of interfaces for monitoring, control and evaluation of data.

SiGLA has designed and developed this center as a laboratory for the development of eco-efficient solutions packages exportable to any other facility or establishment, and represents a before and after in the development and construction of new stores by registering energy savings of up to 46%, which represents close to 54,000 euros per year in electricity costs in this case.

Likewise, CO2 emissions are reduced and compensated through our own technological measures and the purchase of green energy guaranteed by the marketer, thereby achieving the qualification of a Zero Emissions or neutral emission establishment, achieving savings per year equivalent to the CO2 absorbed by 34,000 trees.
