It is SiGLA’s third operation with the German operator
New ALDI establishment in the Guipuzcoan city of Eibar.
The development of the new supermarket began last summer and is scheduled for delivery at the end of January.
The city of Eibar, with 27,500 inhabitants and a population density of 1,100 h/m2, has a large Eroski hypermarket and the only El Corte Inglés shopping center in the province, which has not made the development of this investment less attractive.
The site on which an old industrial warehouse of about 1,500m2 is located is located in the heart of the city, with its main entrance on Otaola Street and vehicle access on Barrenengua Street. After the demolition of the old building and the new foundation last summer, construction of the concrete structure that will make up the new building has begun with plans to complete the works at the end of January. Once the building has been delivered, the fitting out and equipment phase will begin, making the establishment operational and open to the public before the arrival of spring 2020.
It is a commercial building that will house a 1,050m2 sales room, auxiliary rooms and a semi-basement parking floor with capacity for 66 vehicles.
The new establishment will be Aldi’s second supermarket in Guipúzcoa and represents for SiGLA, Servicios e Inversiones en GLA, the third operation with the German operator, after a due diligence in Logroño and another recent investment in a newly created establishment in Gernika. In both cases, these are financial investments created and coordinated by SiGLA and intended for investment companies looking for turnkey products with high and long-term profitability.
Aldi is a centenary distribution group that is organized into two large companies: Aldi Nord and Aldi Sud. It has its origins in Germany and has nearly 7,000 stores distributed in 19 countries, mainly in Europe.
In Spain it began in 2002 and today there are more than three hundred supermarkets. Last 2018 alone, Aldi invested 297 million euros in opening 32 stores in our country.
