The new SiGLA development for Eroski is already operational in Aretxabaleta.
This has been a project of special difficulty in the administrative field given the status of a building protected as an asset of industrial interest.
In this case, SiGLA technicians have acted as project engineering, urban management and works coordination, which is why they have had to work hard to overcome the administrative procedures involved in changing the planning and modifying the use of a protected building. Indeed, it is the old building that houses the workshops of the historic Azbe firm that manufactured padlocks and locks for decades.
The main surface of the new commercial complex will be occupied by an Eroski supermarket of its successful “Contigo” model, as well as a travel agency of the same brand, leaving another space free for rent, foreseeably to an organized restaurant operator.
The result of all this effort has been the conversion of a historic industrial building into a 21st century supermarket in the heart of the urban center of Aretxabaleta. A total of 4,625m2 on three floors for 1,330m2 of sales room, two commercial premises with access to the street, a covered parking on the ground floor and another covered parking with access above ground level of the rear road in a project carried out and coordinated by SiGLA for Eroski and the company that owns the Aretxabaleta Naves property.
The complex is a good example of the opportunities offered by an investment operation that manages to convert an old property with negative profitability into a fully profitable real estate asset. A new case of financial investments created and coordinated by SiGLA and aimed at investment companies looking for turnkey products with high and long-term profitability.
